{"id":13195,"date":"2020-08-19T10:17:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-19T10:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mosscm.com\/?p=13195"},"modified":"2023-08-29T18:29:33","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T18:29:33","slug":"moss-foundation-donates-150k-to-handy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moss.com\/press-release\/moss-foundation-donates-150k-to-handy\/","title":{"rendered":"Moss Foundation Donates $150K to HANDY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 The Moss Foundation, Inc. presented a $150K donation to HANDY, Inc. to help support their mission to achieve positive, lasting change for youth by providing life skills, education, and a supportive community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The money will go towards HANDY\u2019S LIFE Program, which combines case management, group activities and education services in a supportive family environment to youth in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Moss Foundation is committed to help build better lives for young people in our community,\u201d said Chad Moss, president of the Moss Foundation and previous vice chairman of HANDY.&nbsp; \u201cThe Moss Foundation is about giving back to the community and we\u2019re steadfast in our support of this wonderful program and of improving the lives of youths and their families.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For school year 2019-2020, the Life program proudly served 410 youths, ages 10-25, that were or are part of the dependency system, in relative care, or homeless. &nbsp;Handy provided emergency food, fully virtual after school homework and tutorial assistance, mental health case management, and rental assistance to households that lost 70% of their income due to COVID. <s>\u201c<\/s>It\u2019s our intent to continue to stand on the frontlines of HOPE, to elevate our youth and their families, beyond what today brings, towards what tomorrow should be,\u201d said Kirk Brown, chief executive officer of Handy.&nbsp; \u201cThe HANDY Family thanks the Moss family and Moss Foundation for its continuous support and guidance.
